Dolphin Premier Robotic Pool Cleaner Price (typical cost)

In this article we’re looking at the typical Dolphin Premier Robotic pool cleaner price. How much does it cost on average and what can you expect to pay in new and used markets?

I’ll start by covering the typical retail price and will get into more detail from there.

I’ll also assume that you’re talking about buying new first and not used.

Note that there are also older versions of the Dolphin Premier, so they appearance of the unit – especially if you buy used – could be slightly difference. For example, ours looks a little different than the one that’s pictured on Amazon right now, but it functions exactly the same.

I’ll try to add pictures of ours as an update to this post.

Dolphin Premier Robotic Pool Cleaner Price for a New Unit

How much does it cost to get the Dolphin Premier pool cleaner new?

Currently, the unit retails for about $1250 in most markets. I checked Amazon and Walmart, and both had the unit available online for that price (maybe a little lower). Target looks like it does not carry Dolphin pool cleaners. Lowes also does not carry them.

I have to redact the price from the image in order to display it, but you can easily browse Amazon for current pricing.

Local pool and spa shops will usually carry this brand, though I’ve found they’re a bit more expensive there, retailing for about $1400-$1500. For the cheapest price, I’d recommend going with Amazon, Walmart, or buying used (more on that later).

Typical Used Pricing

What is the typical cost for buying the Dolphin Premier Robotic pool cleaner used?

This is the route my wife and I took to get our Dolphin, and we got fairly lucky. A lady in our neighborhood was selling hers in mint condition for $700, about half of what they paid for it. So we’d recommend first and foremost checking these places:

  • Facebook classifieds
  • Craigslist
  • Local buy/sell forums

From there, Amazon will sometimes have used options in the new/used section, though I don’t typically see those come down very far in price.

On eBay, a lot of the units are even more expensive than retail, though I often see a few come near or under $1000.

Based on what I’ve see in my own used search and browsing around online, I’d say that $700 is a bit of a low-end, and a unique find for my wife and I. To make sure I don’t create unrealistic expectations, I’d put the used price range between $800 and $1100.

Summary and Questions

We got very lucky with the Dolphin Premier Robotic pool cleaner price we ended up paying. $700 is pretty low, especially for a unit in mint and good working condition. Thus far, we’ve had zero problems with it, and it does a great job keeping our pool clean.

If you want to buy new, I’d recommend looking at Amazon or Walmart.

For used shoppers, check local resources and especially Facebook classifieds. From there, if you don’t have any luck, try eBay and expect to be in the $800 to $1000 range.
